How to make a 3 phase Transformers out of 3 single phase Transformers

Connecting 3 Single Phase Transformers as 3 Phase Transformers

It is possible to use use 3 suitably rated single phase transformers to make up one 3 phase transformer in both Star and Delta Configurations

1) Star Connected Windings -> Most common type and is used on 4 wire Systems.

• The Input is A,C,B, N
• The output is a,b,c, n
• N does not need to be connected to the load. 
• N can be connected through to the N on secondary side

2) Delta Connected Windings -> Can only be used in 3 wire systems with no Neutral available.

• The Input is A,C,B, N
• The output is a,b,c, n
• N does not need to be connected at all
