How to Test Klixon Sensata 4CR Series Motor Start Relays

4CR Single Circuit Relay

For single circuit relay, apply pick-up current through terminal #3 and #4, then check if the circuit between terminal #2 and #4 is close, then remove current, check if the circuit between terminal #2 and #4 is open.

 

4CR Two Circuit Relay

For two circuit relay, apply pick-up current through terminal #3 and #1, then check if the circuit between terminal #2 and #4 is close, then remove current, check if the circuit between terminal #2 and #4 is open.

Note: 4CR relay can only be used for AC motors, it can’t be used for DC.
